Munich Day 1

We landed at 7:50 am European time in Munich, Germany! We had a safe trip and arrived at our hotel which was very close to the Marienplatz, which is the main city square. It is also where the famous Glockenspiel is which we watched the same day we arrive. After getting to our hotel, we hit the streets of Munich! We walked the pedestrian zone which is off of the Marienplatz and did a little window shopping. We watched had some lunch and then when back for a nice little nap because we didn't get any sleep on the plane.

We woke up about 3 hours later and it was practically dinner time. We went to a famous church that is call the Frauenkirche. It has two tall dome steeples and it was very beautiful on the inside. After we went to the most famous beer hall in Munch, the Hofbrauhauss. It is basically a giant three story building with large open rooms filled with long tables and benches. The bottom floor was filled when we got there and it was very hot! We passed a band playing very traditional music and decided to head upstairs to see if there was more seating because it was packed. We were very surprised when we got to the top and saw a practically empty hall with beautiful murals on the wall and another band playing. We decided to sit down not knowing that this room was reserved for tour groups only. However, the let us stay there luckily. The food is nothing to rave about but we got some beer and enjoyed the music. We were also very thankful we got an English menu before ordering because we found out the waitress was wanting us to order pig knuckles. After dinner we went to the gift store where I bought a giant beer stein.

More on Munich tomorrow! I know that I am behind on posting stuff and promise to start catching up on post! Stay tuned for more fun stuff!
